Pottery Workshop

Maggie is so excited to share her passion for pottery with you in this 2 hour pottery experience on Thursday, March 9th from 6-8PM.  This pottery workshop aint no “paint your own pottery” experience…you will be creating your own 5”x5” ceramic plate from wet clay to finished piece! But don’t be intimidated! Maggie has taught art for over a decade and will guide you through the process to assure your piece will be amazing.  We will begin with a slab of clay in which you will choose textures and images to stamp into the clay. Dog theme? Springtime theme? Sports theme? Maggie owns all types of textures and stamps depending on the type of plate you wish to make. We will place them in moulds, let them dry a bit (perfect time to have a wine sipping break!), and then finish the workshop by adding color (underglaze) to the dish. Maggie will take the pieces to her studio and let them completely dry, fire them in her kiln, put a clear shiny glaze to seal them, and fire them again. Upon completion your dishwasher, microwave and food safe dish will be ready for pick-up at Eagle Public Market on March 30th.
